MEDLINE is the most important medical database and covers all aspects of clinical medicine. Pubmed is a freely available version of MEDLINE.

Embase covers all aspects of biomedical research with a particular emphasis towards pharmacology, drug research and toxicology. It has a bias towards European journals.

CINAHL

(Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) is probably the best one to start with; it provides authoritative coverage of the literature related to occupational therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry, rehabilitation, health education, nursing, midwifery and other related subject areas. It covers over 1,200 journals with references from 1982 onwards.
