Sensible advice from Student Services

Barry asks for advice from Student Services, who have a great deal of experience with students facing the same kinds of difficulties as him. They suggest that he talks to his tutor, who is sympathetic but tells him that he will have to improve his attendance and work harder or face a real risk of failing his first year.

The other practical advice given involves:

A -cut back on his social life, save money and spend more time studying

B -try and get a different job with more social working hours

C -ask his parents to send him some money so he can concentrate on his studies
